In each subject area, we have identified key pages and processes for learning focus. Information on each exam is found on the exam tabs, home page,8KP has some lovely revision suggestions. Boys have been given sheets on how to revise, what to revise  and many opportunities to show their revision.

Remember to get enough sleep, and try not to cram at the last minute. It isnt the best recipe for success.

Turn your thoughts to how you learn best and what works best for you? We need to think and recognise our habits which work for us -and identify those ones that don't help us.

WHAT ARE YOU PUTTING YOUR ATTENTION TO????

The Tech Challenge for Year 7/8
The idea for this challenge has come about from the Year Eight Steam Punked Science unit. This unit allowed students to build simple machines.  Collect data to develop graphing skills and follow the Scientific Method process authentically.
The Challenge:  You must create three machines that link together. The three components include Tower, a Catapult and a Marble run. They need to be stand-alone machines, but for the successful completion of the challenge –they must work together. This is a house competition; each team needs to have a fitting name.
Rules and Regulations:
Tower:    # Height:   Minimum of 40cm with a maximum of 60cm.
               # Platform: Must sit on the top of the tower and be no bigger than 20x20 cm squared.
               # Tower must be completely free standing.
Catapult:    # Rubber bands 5 maximum
                    # A large marble will be supplied per group.
                    # Wooden block no bigger than 15cmx15cm
                    # The marble must travel in the air at least a metre, but no more than three metres.
Marble Run     #   Height limit must be  no lower than 30cm
                        #    Must have at least one tunnel.
                        # It must spiral around a free standing centre piece.
                        # It must have one drop off section.
                        # The marble’s run must finish in a captured area.
More rules and regulations:
No pre -existing machines or kits, ie, mouse traps.
Bonus points for reusing materials. Penalties for shopping.
No access to tech block including all hard materials machinery. No art materials are to be accessed.

Each house should develop three of each machine to make many working models. This way you can combine the very best of the machines for the final.
Building Time 1 and ½ hours.
Each house will present their best team effort in the final.

Antibiotics are needed to clear the infection and 24hrs after commencing, and as long as they are dry and/or covered, they are not contagious anymore.
