Welcome back to a new year at Hereworth! I am so excited to be teaching you all!
This term we are going to be focusing in the 'The Shed' the Hard Materials Workshop.
Here we are looking at Taonga. Taonga is a special piece of jewellery or adornment that will be created by you. We will be designing and making for a 'Stakeholder', a new word that many of you have learnt.
Your first homework project is to follow the success criteria to design a special piece of work for a person you care about. We have looked at the examples of work in pictures, designs and the materials that we are going to be using.
Traditionally Maori would always give away their first bone carving/pounamu that they made. We are going to be following this protocol and designing and giving away our first project.
